Case summary

Dan Hall, a fireman with the Illinois Central Railroad, was killed possibly in 1934 in Adams County, Mississippi. Hall’s body was found several miles from Natchez, along a railroad track. It was speculated that he may have been among the many Black men killed by the white group Mystic Order of United Workers, which killed and terrorized Black men to deter them from taking railroad jobs.
