Killing of Fred Tutt in Alabama
Incident
Fred Tutt (1895 – 1930), an auto mechanic and WWI veteran, was killed by a police officer in Birmingham, Alabama. Tutt was reportedly shot while standing in the door of his garage. Accounts were to the effect that he was not accused of a crime and obeyed the officer’s requests.
