Killing of Roosevelt Tinsley in Alabama
Incident
Roosevelt Tinsley, 16, was killed in 1952. Tinsley was from Georgia. However, his body was found in a fish pond near the state line between Alabama and Georgia, with a stick through his body. Based on a report from Tinsley’s aunt, the NAACP suspected it was a racial killing and called for an investigation.
