Incident

Case summary

Will M. Jackson (1907-1939), a laborer, was killed by the watchman of Columbus Ironworks in Muscogee County, Georgia. Jackson’s brother Jessie was a union organizer. Perhaps mistaking Jackson for his brother, the watchman confronted, then shot and killed Jackson as he was out walking with his wife and daughter. Grand jury apparently took no action.
