Willie McCormick (1928-1950) was killed in Birmingham, Alabama in 1950 by Anthony C. Raia, a store owner. According to accounts, Raia claimed he heard glass break in the front door of the store in the middle of the night, shouted to McCormick to halt, and when he did not, fired his weapon.
