Percy Charlie, age 32, was killed in 1939 by Deputy Sheriff C.B. Jones in Birmingham, Alabama. Jones claimed he and Deputy Milton Ferguson were in a car when Charlie drove a truck into them, that Charlie resisted arrest, and he shot him. On March 14, 1939, Charlie’s body was found in a ditch behind a garage.
