Killing of William Brown in Louisiana in 1947
Incident
William Brown (1872-1947), a farmer, was killed by Game Warden Charley Ventril in Torras or Lettsworth, Louisiana. Brown had been out squirrel hunting when he was confronted by Ventril, who shot him in the back of the head, claiming self-defense.
