Killing of Wilbert Robinson in Louisiana in 1949
Incident
Wilbert Robinson, 24, a mechanic and veteran, was killed in 1949 by Sheriff George Freeman in East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. Freeman was responding to an automobile accident when he had an altercation with Robinson. One witness stated that Freeman was infuriated because when he told everyone to step back, Robertson replied "O.K boss,” which Freeman considered to be flippant.
