Incident
Willie Young, 24, a waiter, was killed in 1939 by police officer Albert Hoxie in Warren County, Mississippi. According to a letter to the NAACP from one W. L. Byrd, Hoxie struck Young in the head and then shot him. Available records suggest Hoxie was not arrested.
