Killing of Mack Henry Brown in Georgia
Incident
Mack Henry Brown, 40, an apartment janitor, was killed in 1936 in Fulton County, Georgia. Brown was accused of “insulting” a white woman. On two occasions, Lt. Det. McCrary and City Det. Battle went looking for him. Brown went missing in November and his body was found weeks later in December in the Chattahoochee River in Roswell, Georgia. His body was bound at the hands and feet, his neck was broken, and his body bore bullet wounds.
