Albert Gooden (1913 - 1937), was killed by a group of men Tipton County, Tennessee. Gooden was in jail on a charge of killing a white civilian or a white police officer (accounts differ). A group of six masked men seized Gooden from the custody of Sheriff W. J. Vaughan, and shot and hung him. His body was later found in a creek.
