Case summary

Quinzy Hill (1900-1940), a farmer, was killed by C.W. Davis in Coleman, Texas. Davis was Hill’s employer. Davis was angered when friends of Hill were driving to Hill’s home to celebrate Juneteenth, and their car got stuck in a road, blocking the way to Davis’s house. Hill, unhappy with the way Davis had treated his guests, confronted Davis. Davis claimed he shot Hill because he felt threatened.
