Joe Love, about 25, a farm worker, was killed by a mob in 1934 near Boliver County, Mississippi. Love and Isaac Thomas were said to have confessed to attacking a white woman, the wife of a plantation manager. The mob kidnapped Love and Thomas from police custody while they were being transported to jail and hung them from a railroad trestle.
