Killing of Ivey Johnson in Georgia in 1954
Incident
Ivey Johnson, age 47, was killed in 1954 by patrolman D.F. Gore in Albany, Dougherty, Georgia. Gore was responding to a report of a naked Black man walking down the street. Johnson allegedly resisted arrest and attempted to choke Gore when Gore fatally shot him.
